week two independent novel "A Series Of Unfortunate Events"

I am currently reading a novel called  " A Series Of Unfortunate Events ", its the eleventh book of the series. They're are 3 main characters in this book and all of them are siblings. The parents of these children passed away. This series of events are their adventures running away from the man that wants to take the children for their parents money. The children spend years running away from the man trying to take their money and wealthy things that the family has collected over a number of years.

I find this book very interesting because its just children and im inferring that most people think that children cant last long when a grown man is trying to find them, but the kids are still away from the man trying to take them. Thats why I like this book because of the childrens detrmination to not give in even when things get very hard. This one one of many books in this series. There are a total of twelve books in the series. I recommend this book to anyone who likes sci-fi type of books, but for more of a childrens interest group.

post 1 catching fire

My favorite book that I read last year was The Hunger Games Catching Fire, it is a sequel to the Hunger Games series. The main character, Katniss Everdeen lives in district 12 it is a district that mines coal to give to the rest of the districts coal and underground rocks that help with survival. There are a total of 13 different districts that pay tribute to the capital wich is in charge of all the different districts. The capital is very wealthy and all wealthy people live there.

Every year the capital has a annual Hunger Games where all the districts have two people go to the capital and fight other districts to the death in honer of the rebellion that occured therefore making the districts the way they are today.

Final Blog Reflection (characters) Dylan Schauer

Clickhere to view my best blog post   The blog I chose to be my best is my character blog. I met the expectations the best for this blog I think because, I explain the main characters and how they change throughout the story. Also I explain the characters with alot of detail so that the reader can understand them better as of they were real people. Something that helps explain these characters are evidence from the story to explain how they met, where they met, and when they met, I used evidence from the text to explain that.

Two goals that I have for reading/writing next trimester are looking more into a characters life in the story, I think that will help me undertand not only the character, but also the story itself, and how the character interacts in the story with other characters. One thing that I struggled with this trimester on blogging was being determined to blog twice every week. I dont think I was determined enough to blog twice a week. One strength that I had with blogger was that it always got me thinking about my story and keeping me on track to understand the story much better, and making sure I was thinking about the story truly, not just reading it, but talking about it and literally saying it to yourslef. Other people can help you on your blog also, you cant get different perspectives on what you write and understand.

Reading skills

The Hunger Games could connect to my life by being faced with problems, not as big as the problems in The Hunger Games, but smaller problems in my life. This novel is similar by characters having big problems to overcome, just how I might have a problem or maybe having a tough realationship with one of my friends or family. Some of the characters have tough relationships with other characters in the story, like Katniss and Pita. Pita likes Katniss, but Katniss dosnt know if she likes him or not.

Tone and Mood

The tone and mood of Romeo and Juliet  is more of a influential, anger, and some compassion. The prince talks to the citizens about stopping the two families from fighting in public. That would be why one of the tones is influential, the citizens are also angry about how the two families keep fighting in public and they want to put a stop to it. Compassion is mixed in with the different tones because of Romeo starting to fall in love with a star crossed lover. The mood is i feel eager and wanting to hear more about who this girl Romeo is in love with. Also what and why the whole two family feuds even started and when.

Book Recommendations

I would recommend The Hunger Games Caching Fire  to young adults up to adults. This book has alot of different things in it such as action, romance, and adventure along with some sad scenes in the book. If you like fantasy or fiction books, this is the perfect book for you. The Hunger Games Catching Fire  is the second book of three, if you've read the first book than im sure you will love this book! It has a new twist on things and has a different perspective than the first one.

characters

I will now be talking about the characters of The Hunger Games Catching Fire. Pita Mallark and Katniss everdeen are both from district twelve, in the first book both characters change alot throughout the story. Pita had once seen Katniss before they ever met face to face, Pita had thrown a price of bread to Katniss in the middle of a rain storm. They then meet later on when they are selected to participate in the annual Hunger Games. Katniss ad Pita both have flash backs to that very moment when they first saw eachother but never talked. In the second book Katniss and Pitas realationship changes, in the first book pita liked Katniss but she didn't like him back. In the second book she really questions herself and finds out if she really likes Pita or not, she is also faced with alot more problems throughout the book.

theme and summary

I will be talking about the theme on the book The Hunger Games Catching Fire. This book is one of many books of the series The Hunger Games, it's the second book of The Hunger Games series. Katniss Everdeen has won the hunger games with another person named Pita mallark. In all of history no two people at the same time has won the hunger games. Now there is word of two winners being a way of revolt. Katniss and Pita now go on a long tour around all the districts, but Katniss is not a real big fan of this. Last year Pita and Katniss had a fake realationship to make the games more intersedting to the audiance. Katniss goes through a couple problems along the way, with people thinking that she is rebolting. The president in district 12 also gets involved with Kaynisses "efforts to rebolt".

                                                                   Dylan Schauers reading blog

The main character in the book “The Good soldiers” changes a lot throughout the story by bonding a lot more with the other characters by war. The conflict in this story is George W. Bush, and he is making up an operation to infiltrate the Taliban and stop what they are doing around the world, which is terror. The president calls the operation the surge. It’s designed to find the people causing terror around the world and put a stop to it. Colonel Kalistavh is leading a group of soldiers into Iraq and Afghanistan. Their objective is to carry out the president’s word on the surge. He changes a lot with the soldiers, conflict also helps with the bonding.
